A Better You is Closer Than You Think
Ok we’ve all been there. We wake up and decide, today is the day I am going to make a change. It doesn’t matter what kind of change, but a change for the better. But how easy is it to follow through?
Your mind is saying life gets in the way, or happy hour and take out are derailing my health goals, or you decide to push off your workout because there is too much to do. Something always seems to creep up and then you end up pushing aside your goals and with a sigh say to yourself, “I’ll start tomorrow.”
But guess what, making a positive change is simple. All you have to do is take a small step forward — a baby step forward and commit to a better you. And here’s why — YOU deserve it. Go ahead repeat those three little words- YOU DESERVE IT.
And it’s true, you deserve so much more than you are giving yourself right now. Here is why making a change is going to be simple. I’m not going to tell you to make a goal for next month, next week OR even tomorrow.
I’m going to ask you to forget about the past and start small, start today. Make a goal for today and in the back of your mind remember, baby steps. We began our lives taking baby steps. And with those steps we met our goals. We began to walk instead of crawl, run instead of walk and each time we took on a new feat WE CONQUERED it! And now it’s time for you to conquer again.
Today is the Day!
Today is the day! Today is your yes day. Yes because you are worth it, yes because it is time to put yourself first, and yes because you’re about to rediscover yourself.
Keep in mind that it is important to stay present with your goals, don’t look back- only forward. Dwelling on the past will only set you back further in your journey to the new you, the you that you strive to be!
Baby steps.

Your mindset will help you take those baby steps and achieve goals that you may have pushed aside before OR just have been afraid to tackle. As we get older it becomes even harder to change the day to day because we become set in our way.
It’s time to reset ourselves.
Think about it. Did you ever wake up and say to yourself in the mirror, “I wish I wasn’t as tired.” or “I want to eat healthier and be more present for my family!” What about, “I don’t have time to workout today?”
We’ve all been there but it doesn’t have to be that way. The power of a growth mindset, or the ability to grow your beliefs and abilities, is completely attainable and easily implemented in just a few simple steps.
Having a fixed mindset — one where you believe you cannot grow or change to reach a goal, puts up barriers and walls that prevent us from achieving goals. American psychologist and Stanford professor Carol Dweck, Ph.D states that “In a fixed mindset, people believe their basic qualities, like their intelligence or talent, are simply fixed traits.”
Flip the switch and “fix” that mindset!
You may be asking yourself, how do I change my mindset? In all honesty it begins with a decision and ends with a calm state of mind and feeling of strength, determination and success.
There are so many things in this world that are obtainable through perseverance, dedication and time. It’s true, you won’t grow if you don’t put one foot in front of the other but the best news is that you have the ability.
You have the ability to grow, you have the ability to find peace and calm in your day to day and you have the ability to achieve your dreams.
So, stop making excuses, stop telling yourself that you are too busy, or feeling as if you are stuck. It’s time to make a change and become A BETTER YOU!
Growth mindset will get you there. The only one that can get you to your goal is you. You have to make a change and you have to believe you can. After all- life is too short to sit back and make excuses or regrets.
Make your life work with you, believe and you will achieve.

When you wake up each morning, do me a favor — well do yourself a favor, open your blinds and take a moment to savor the beauty of TODAY! When you start fresh and welcome a new day you kick start the steps it takes to be a great YOU! Believe that today is going to be a great day!
Stare into the mirror and smile. Wait a minute really? Are you thinking — Isn’t that awkward?! Well yes maybe at first but think about it, when was the last time you really admired yourself? You HAVE done great things in your life and you WILL continue to do great things. When you acknowledge how amazing you are and what you have to offer, your mindset will follow suit.
Jot down your daily goal — What will it be today? Remember — start small. Perhaps it’s a better breakfast, working out for 5 more minutes, reading the next chapter in a book or reading to your children at bedtime. Prioritize it and make it happen.
Surround yourself with positivity. How many times have you heard “positive vibes only.” It’s true, if you surround yourself with positive thoughts, positive people and positive notions you have nowhere to go but up. Make this your new mantra.
